Lisa Creagh is currently studying a Masters in Photography at Brighton University. She completed a BA in Art History (Studio Practice) at Goldsmiths College in 1994. After this she started a small gallery at the Old Bull (now known as the Depot) in London and taught digital Imaging at Goldsmiths part time. In 1997 she went to New York where she continued as a software trainer and freelance curator. In 2000 she became Director of Get Real Art, a commercial gallery specialising in emerging artists. Returning to the UK in 2002 Lisa founded the Brighton Photo Fringe in 2003 and after managing sales and marketing for Spectrum Photographic for three years she accepted a post as Marketing Manager for The Metro Group where she works currently.
My work is a mixture of digital imaging, photography and painting. I work in the studio and on the computer to make large photographic pieces. The visual language I am attempting to develop through my work is a combination of Dutch Still life painting, Arabic rug making and Celtic book illustration design. My purpose is to examine the plasticity of digital imaging and the interchangable languages of pattern and decoration as an expression of stored meaning.
