Bip Mistry


Bip is a self taught photographer, of indian descent. His first body of work was shot in india during the winter of 1988 leading to his first published work and an exhbition at the national museum of photography, Bradford in 1990. Photography in india centered around his interest in cultural indentity and the work has been used in multicultural projects in primary and secondar schools. Visits to india also included commisions from book publishers. His work has comprised projects funded by the Arts Council, including multi cultural prjects . He has carried out photography workshops in schools and community centres with children and special needs groups, teaching black and white darkroom skills and approaches to picture taking.
